my first ever blog

Thanks to a friend on facebook, she gave me an idea to start a blog :) I suppose it's easier to get into detail for everyone while im here because I don't have the time to call everyone. I'm now on day 14 of being here in Mosul. It's not to shabby. Except it got up to 125 degrees, the hottest it's been since I got here. Luckily it's my day off so i've been chilling in my chu (container housing unit) cleaning and unpacking. My coworker that I was suppose to replace left a few days ago so I just finished the process of moving all of my stuff in today. I finally got to sleep in tooo, till 11am :) I was stoked!

Last night I went to the movie theater and saw Why did I get married too.. It was pretty funny, I like Tyler Perry movies. After the movie I was walking towards the bathroom area and saw my new neighbor Sarah. She is really nice!!! She's Iraqi and was an interpreter, now she owns a restaurant here on the FOB. I haven't been there yet, but I plan on going tonight.

Did I mention that the FOB i'm at is the only one in Iraq that is surrounded by the city? We're almost right in the middle of it. I found that to be a bit weird, but there must have been some reason in the beginning of us being here. The food here is freaking awesome... way to much to choose from and they have baskin robins. BUT... i've gotta watch what I eat right now, because i'm not working out. I plan to though once I get a TV in my room and hook up the wii!

Gotta bounce now and go check out Sarah's restaurant and sweat my ass off in the process, it's 5:30pm and still 124!
